Noche Criolla 2025: A Celebration That Brought Cultures Together on Vancouver Island



On November 22 the Vancouver Island Peruvian Association hosted Noche Criolla 2025 for the first time. The evening brought together nearly 150 attendees from the Peruvian Latin American and Canadian communities. This event marked an important milestone for the association becoming a meaningful gathering space where music culture and identity came together to create an unforgettable night.



The celebration featured a live musical performance by the group Kantu who presented a diverse repertoire of Peruvian and Latin American songs. Their energy and talent inspired the audience to sing along and connect with every performance. The dance group Perú Folclore also captivated attendees with traditional dances from Peru’s coast highlands and rainforest showcasing the country’s cultural diversity through color rhythm and artistic expression.


The festive atmosphere continued with DJ Facundo who energized the dance floor with a mix of classic and contemporary hits. His set sparked nostalgia and excitement encouraging guests to dance connect and share joyful moments. Music became the common thread of the night highlighting the strong connection between generations and cultures.



The experience was enhanced by a thoughtfully curated selection of food and drinks including the traditional Peruvian chilcano rum and cola the ever popular Inca Kola as well as delicious Peruvian snacks and desserts prepared by Lima Cuisine. These authentic flavors added a special touch making many guests feel right at home.


Noche Criolla 2025 was a resounding success receiving very positive feedback from attendees who praised the excellent organization the originality of the concept and the importance of celebrating cultural roots. Many highlighted the value of coming together for a unique event where Peruvian music cuisine and culture were experienced in a warm and welcoming environment.



This first edition leaves a lasting impression and reaffirms the Vancouver Island Peruvian Association’s commitment to continuing to promote cultural spaces that strengthen identity inclusion and community pride while paving the way for future editions that celebrate the best of Peru abroad.
