The Christmas of the Child Jesus: A Celebration of Faith Tradition and Family Unity

On December 6 the Vancouver Island Peruvian Association held its third Peruvian Christmas celebration titled The Christmas of the Child Jesus. The event brought together more than 80 people including Peruvian families and members of the broader Latin American community in an atmosphere filled with joy tradition and the true spirit of Christmas. Over the years this celebration has become a much anticipated date strengthening cultural and family bonds far from home.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was the live Nativity reenactment. This heartfelt performance moved both adults and children and allowed attendees to relive one of the most cherished traditions of Peruvian Christmas. The presentation invited reflection togetherness and the importance of keeping our customs alive especially for new generations growing up abroad.
Throughout the afternoon Christmas carols were sung creating a festive atmosphere alongside a lively holiday raffle games and family friendly activities. These shared moments encouraged connection inclusion and togetherness reinforcing a strong sense of community among all attendees.

The Christmas of the Child Jesus was a joyful gathering rooted in unity tradition and shared values. This third edition reaffirms the Vancouver Island Peruvian Association’s commitment to creating spaces that celebrate our roots nurture faith and strengthen family values within the Peruvian and Latin American community on Vancouver Island.
